We Moved!
the thing is, we're writers, not web designers.
ICYMI our website is looking a little bit different these days. That’s because we migrated over from Wordpress to here on Substack!
There are many reasons for this, but the primary is: Wordpress is hard. I know. It’s not supposed to be. But see above. Accidentally hiding the side tool bar in the Wordpress editor without figuring out how to unhide it was the final straw. I looked it up on Google, Youtube, Gemini, you name it, and the button was not there!! What was there, is here. Substack.
Coming Up Short is an itsy little magazine from writers and readers for writers and readers. It’s a community of us. We want have a great idea and implement it immediately, without consulting multiple tutorials on how to add an obscure widget, how link a social block, how customize a sidebar, or how to undo having accidentally modified an entire theme template instead of changing a subpage font.
In short, we came up short on Wordpress.
Substack has what we want, and what we know you will love. Substack, like us, is a community of readers and writers.
And while yes, I’ve still had to consult a tutorial on how to add our little logo to the tab strip, it’s a whole lot more user-friendly for both us and, likely, you.
And so while I still had to Google, “Whats the bar across the top of Chrome that has tabs in it,” see above. I’m a writer, not a web designer.
